The Mountaineer, or Mounty as many call it, is Frost's only Second Era Card with Siege. At the moment it is one of the most sought after cards in the game. It has a relatively short attack range when compared to the Firedancer. What really makes the Mounty stand out though is what it acquires with the first Upgrade. This Ice Shield is much like that of the Avatar of Frost, except that it disappears when the Mounty attacks. The best way to counter the Mounty is to catch it while attacking and quickly kill it. Ensnaring Roots can help with this greatly. Once you get the hang of countering it, the Mounty will not seem so intimidating and will often provide an opportunity for you to pull ahead. This is due to the Mounty's extremely high cost and relatively low amount of health for the price.
Every 4 seconds, unit hurls balls of ice that deal 170 damage to enemies in a 5m radius around its target, up to 260 in total. Knocks back small and medium units. Affects ground targets only.
Siege
Deals 50% more damage against structures.
Glacial Shield
Builds up a regenerating frosty barrier which absorbs up to 600 damage but will only regenerate while unit is not attacking.
