Brushes are used by most of the tool to get their informations on the map.
Their are two type of brushes depending on the tool you are using.
Single Brush - this brush can’t be changed, its used for the entity tool where you can place only single entities.
Customizable Brush - this brush can be changed in size, shape and falloff. Its used for height editing and texturing.
CUSTOMIZABLE BRUSHEditThis is a common brush window like its used by the tools. Special functions will be explained within the tool expplaination, if there are special features.
There are three different brush shapes which can be changed.
The brush is subdivided into two parts, the brush size and the falloff size. The brush size defines the size of the whole brush while the falloff size may head you to the question:
What’s a Falloff?Edit
Take a look at the two pictures to the left. On the left picture, the Falloff wasn’t used and the edges are hard and ugly. On the right picture, the falloff was used and the edges are smooth and good looking.
The Falloff defines the range of the brush that will be drawn smoothly. The bigger the falloff the smoother the terrain will be.
At the bottom of the brush setting are the snap to grid and inc by grid function.
Snap to Grid sets the option that the brush will snap to the pathing grid, which has a size of 1,4m.
Inc by Grid sets the option that changing the size of the brush is made in steps accordingly to the grid size. Snap to Grid has to be active to turn this option on.
